A Zanesville man has been charged in connection with shooting this week. Zanesville Police Captain Tony Coury says 23-year-old Mark Smart of 1024 Keen Street is facing five counts of felonious assault with fire arm specifications in a Monday night shooting at 819 Jackson Street. Police say that evening several people were outside the residence when a vehicle drove up and an occupant fired several gunshots at the group. A 23-year-old male was struck in the chest by one of the bullets. Coury says the shooting probably stemmed from an incident earlier in the day. Smart’s bond has been set at $200,000.
