An important deadline is on the way for candidates looking to make the November ballot.

Wednesday at 4p.m. is the deadline for candidates wanting to run for trustee, village office or school board to turn in their paperwork.

"They need to bring in a petition. There’s a $30 filing fee and they also have to have valid required signatures for it to be on the ballot," said Director of the Board of Elections Chris Hamill.

The number of signatures required depends on what office you’re running for. All candidates will be certified to run by August 19th.

"If a candidate is not certified to the ballot then I will send the candidate a certified letter explaining what was wrong with their petition," said Hamill.

New this year a list of those running for office can be found on the Board of Elections website. Names of those not certified will be removed after the 19th.

Hamill said Franklin Local Schools will have a levy on the November ballot.
