Muskingum County families lined up at The Salvation Army to get their children new outfits for the new school year.
"Families can come in and get school clothing for their children to go back to school," said Mindy McCoy, Office Coordinator for The Salvation Army. "We actually have clothing from infants all the way to high school. And if college students came in, we’d be happy to service them as well."
Thanks to donations from the community and help of volunteers, The Salvation Army has been able to hold this event for more than 10 years.
"They can come in and for infants, toddlers, girls, boys and teen boys, they can get three outfits each. An outfit would be a shirt and a pair of pants or shorts and a pair of pants, or a dress. And then the teen girls, we have a lot more teen girls this year, they can get five outfits."
The last day for the back to school event is Friday, August 10. You can stop by The Salvation Army on Putnam Avenue from 10-3 p.m. All you need to bring is a photo ID and your children’s social security cards. If parents can’t make it, teens are able to go by themselves as long as they have the proper identification.
