The Genesis Healthcare Foundation recently announced a major achievement it reached in a campaign designed to raise money for the new Gensis Medical Center.

The "Your Hospital. Your Health” campaign set out in March of 2012 to raise 15 million dollars within two years all through community support. Only eighteen months later, the foundation is now officially at 14 million dollars, just 1 million shy of its goal.

"We still have a little ways to go and of course we are encouraging everyone to still make a pledge or a downright cash contribution and be a part of something so big and so wonderful,” said Alice Mauk, Campaign Volunteer. “You know, it is really something to be able to have a first class hospital in our community, so you don’t have to travel outside of the community for good health care, everything is right here."

The foundation first started to raise money by contacting board members, community leaders and local businesses. The rest of the community is also encouraged to get involved and it is easy to contribute.

"Oh all they need to do is, well first of all, they can go on our website and there is a spot on there where they can send in a pledge or call here to the foundation office. I think, what I want to stress is, no amount is too small. Everyone can be a part of what is happening."
