At Tuesday’s noon Rotary Club meeting, Bill Bussey, Superintendent of Mid-East Career and Technology Center schools gave the club an update on how the 40 million dollar renovation and addition project is coming along on the Zanesville and Buffalo campuses.

"We’ll be opening the new addition at the Zanesville campus and also one of the buildings that’s been completely renovated," said Bussey."The addition is about 20,000 square feet and it is really unique. I think you’ll find that when you come over, it’s probably the most unique architecture for any school building in this area."

The 45-year-old building needed new electrical, plumbing and a whole new infrastructure. But Bussey says another reason for the renovation, is that the school needed to keep up with today’s ever changing technology.

"And then with the technology changes is another reason. We need to update our buildings in technology and then also, just the changes in education. We offer more academic classes now then we did back in 1969 when the building was built. So, we needed additional expansion actually of our current classrooms."

Bussey says construction on the Zanesville campus swill be complete by October of next year and the Buffalo campus is set to be completed by the end of summer. Bussey says everyone is invited to the ribbon cutting at Mid-East’s Buffalo campus at 3 O’clock on August 30.
