The Ohio Oil & Gas Association held its annual two-day summer meeting at the Zanesville Country Club. They talked about safety in the workplace while having a little fun too.

"We had an oil and gas safety council meeting," said Peter MacKenzie, VP of Operations for the Ohio Oil & Gas Association. "It’s a new safety council that’s just been formed in conjunction with the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation and the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education program. It’s sole purpose is to promote safety in the workplace and at home for our members."

MacKenzie says the safety council is unique because it’s focused on just the oil and gas industry in Ohio. Over 450 members of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association, all of who work in the energy business, also participated in a golf tournament.

"We’ve got 36 four somes out on the course here at Zanesville today and we’ve got 22 four somes up at Longaberger Country Club and then we’ve got 60 people that are shooting down at Briar Rabbit."

They ended their day full of golf and meetings with awards and dinner at the country club.
