The State Highway Patrol wants to educate the public on issues that impact their safety.
Community Shield Training is a one hour session that discusses topics like how to detect impaired drivers, criminal patrol, homeland security and human trafficking.
The Patrol said training is geared toward community members to assist local law enforcement and troopers while they’re on the road as an extra set of eyes and ears.
Those interested should contact the Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol (740) 439-1388. The deadline for registration is August 19. The program is 7p.m. on August 22.
