Philo Football Preview

It’s been three years in the making, but Philo football is back and maybe better than ever. This season, the Electrics return an experienced group of upperclassmen and are poised to be contenders in the MVL once again. The only next step for the program…the postseason.

The Electrics put the finishing touches on preparations for their final preseason scrimmage Thursday afternoon. They play Johnstown Friday night on the road. Philo had quite an offseason, with the construction of new turf in Sam Hatfield Stadium.

The half million dollar project was funded by the Duncan Falls community and completed in exactly two months. The Electrics open up their home schedule on September 6th, when Licking Valley visits to play in the renovated stadium for the first time.

Head coach Dirk Lincicome knows what football means to the people of Duncan Falls and has pushed his players to get the most of their potential. Philo returns 18 seniors this season, one of the most experienced groups in the MVL, and will be looked to compete for another title, and possibly a postseason berth.
