Mid-East Career and Technology Center celebrated renovations at the Zanesville campus with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house event for the public.

The school is in the third year of a four year project to update the school and provide the latest technology for its students.

"We have the most up to date technology that you can have in any school system around and that will help us since we are a career and technical center is definitely what we need to be, " said Superintendent, Bill Bussey.

The project is estimated at 40 million dollars and is being completed through both state and local funding. At the open house on Friday visitors sat in the new commons area that now seats 900 people. Bussey says there are many other renovations taking place at Mid- East.

"We have new classrooms in there, we have a new childcare center, early childhood education and then high school classes will move from a building to my right to the new renovated facilities swing space for this next year, " said Bussey.

Mid-East also added a new sign at their entrance so that students had a central location to enter the building.
