The Director for Southeast Area Transit met with the Muskingum County Commissioners, Thursday to update them on the progess of the bus system.

"We have since changed our logo, We are Southeast Area Transit.. you’ll start to see that. We have a new website that is up and running, Seatbus.Org. We added a fixed route back into our transit system," said Transit Director, Howard Stewart.

The system provides a number of services for riders including Easy ride, Express ride and fixed routes, that target some of the most used streets in Zanesville. Southeast Area Transit hopes to add more routes for the outlining areas of the county in the future.

" Probably one of the biggest things we would want to do is try to help get those services when funding allows us to do that. Our funding from ODOT and the Federal Transit Administration. It’s a 50 percent match for operation and a 80 to 20 percent match for purhcases and vehicles," said Stewart.

This year the ridership has increased and Stewart wants to thank the drivers for being safe and hope they all keep the company moving in a positive direction. Single rides are a dollar or you can buy a monthly pass.
