The Ohio State University bus tour made a stop in our area on Thursday and visited some hometown favorites.

The tour takes place every summer to fulfill the Ohio State University’s Land Grant Mission. The bus tours 44 of the 88 counties in Ohio and on Thursday they toured Muskingum County.

"We left this morning. We visited The Wilds and learned about Ohio State’s partnership with research at The Wilds and then we went to Longaberger and learned about their partnership with Ohio State and how they still make baskets by hand, " said Administrative Intern, Jessica Shanahan.

Their last stop on the trip ended at Adornetto’s Restaurant, where they had a Buckeye Community Celebration to spend time with alumni of the school that live in the area. Dr. Anthony Adornetto is an optometrist in Zanesville, and at the event he reflected on his time at the University.

"I played baseball with them and we won the the big 10 championship one year. With three guys that made the big leagues," said Adornetto.

The bus tour chose to visit Adornetto’s after they heard the pizza made one of the top 100 pizza places in the country.
