An Ohio organization that promotes the well being of children stopped in Zanesville on Thursday.

Voices for Ohio’s Children is an advocacy group that researches issues facing Ohio’s children and tries to find remedies for those problems on a local and national scale.

"Some of the suggestion that we are hearing are the state moving forward with the expansion or of Medicaid. That is certainly something that can be done as a policy perspective, and looking at the federal level some of the sequestration cuts that are impacting local kids, " said C.E.O of  Voices for Ohio’s Children, Sandy Oxley.

Voices for Ohio’s Children says that they work beyond party affiliations to do what is in the best interest for the children of Ohio. Oxley says that working with Governor Kasich’s administration on these issues has been a positive interaction.

" I would say the good things about the current general assembly and the Kasich administration is they are certainly willing to listen to what the needs are on behalf of Ohio’s children and try to work collectively to figure out strategies that will work, " said Oxley.

The group plans to host meetings in 12 cities in Ohio to continue their mission and hopes that children are positively impacted by their work.
