More than 35 companies with about 4,000 open positions will be at the Southeastern Ohio Jobs Fair September on September 16.
"It’s goes through all the different industries. You got oil and gas, retail, restaurants, everybody’s hiring right now," said Anthony Adornetto, field representative for Congressman Bill Johnson. "So really, if anyone is unemployed, under employed or just looking for a career change, this’ll be the place to come to. "
Adornetto said that companies will be looking for candidates with all different types of experience from entry-level to management. Congressman Johnson along with other sponsors, helped plan the job fair after noticing the serious need for jobs in the area.
"We serve 18 counties in eastern and southeastern Ohio, most of it in Appalachia and that’s all we hear, everywhere we go, is, ‘we need to bring more jobs to the area,’ so Congressman Johnson, he reached out. We have over 25 community partners; federal, state legislatures, county commissioner’s, veteran service organization’s. Everyone got behind this."
