The Folds of Honor Foundation is a national organization that raises money for wounded or fallen soldiers’ families.

According to the foundations website, its mission is to ensure no family is left behind in the fight to preserve American freedom. One of the ways the foundation raises money is through the annual Patriot Golf Day.

"What it is are donations that we ask the golfers to give to The Folds of Honor Scholarship Foundation,” said Green Valley Golf Club’s Head Golf Pro, Steve Galloway. “And that scholarship foundation is for the fallen and wounded soldiers throughout America and all of the accredited golf courses in the United States have gotten on board."

According to Galloway, in the last six years, the foundation has been able to provide scholarships to about 5,000 children of disabled or deceased veterans, through the help of golfers nationwide in raising more than 17 million dollars, just by donating at least one dollar once a year.

"Once you take all of the golf courses and all of the moneys donated and like yesterday we had a 68 person outing here and all of those people donated to it, so yeah when you take everybody and their combined efforts it really helps out."

Two courses in Zanesville were a part of Patriot Golf Day, Green Valley Golf Club and also Eaglesticks Golf Course.
