Buckeyes Use Big First Quarter to Run Away from Buffalo

Buckeyes Use Big First Quarter to Run Away from Buffalo

Through the first 15 minutes on Saturday, Ohio State looked like the No. 2 team in the country. Braxton Miller threw a couple touchdown passes and the Buckeyes were up 23-0 after the first quarter.

But after that, something seemed to click for Buffalo, or something snapped for Ohio State. Buffalo QB Joe Licata threw one of his two touchdowns and a Khalil Mack pick-six made it a 23-13 game.

However, one of the Buckeye veterans decided to take over. Senior Jordan Hall rolled off a 49 yard touchdown run to make it 30-13 at half. Hall finished with 159 yards and 2 TD’s on the day. Another Miller touchdown pass to Chris Fields, and a 39 Drew Basil field goal capped off the second half scoring for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State improves to 1-0 on the season, and extends the nation’s longest winning streak to 13 games. They host San Diego State next Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Ohio Stadium.

Final:
Ohio State    40
Buffalo           20
