Local community members got a chance to experience a day in the life of a farmer on Saturday.

The 19th annual Farm City day took place at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds. This year, the committee put in extra time planning the event to ensure the best outcome.

"We start meeting usually in April and a lot goes into figuring out who were going to invite, what exhibitors we are going to have, and this year with the horses it was a little bit more detailed because we wanted to have some riding demonstrations and education demonstrations as well," said Tiffany Pattison.

There were plenty of activities for families to participate in such as horse drawn carriage rides, a horse building contest, arts and crafts and more.

"We have more booths here than we usually have, so we have expanded the displays out of the Junior Fair Building all the way the Midway and to the Coliseum. We have old tractors, live horses and a petting zoo," said Pattison.

There were llamas, goats and seven breeds of horses that were present at the petting zoo. Farm City Day also offered visitors food and musical selections by the Music Makers.
