A local service based organization turned 100 years old on Sunday and the community came out to celebrate.

The members of Timber Run Grange #1898 snacked on refreshments while sharing Grange history and memorabilia with current members, local officials and and the public.

"It was founded in 1876," said Timber Run Grange Master, Mark Weiser. It was founded as community service organization and through the years and transformation, we still continue that process."

The Timber Run Grange was founded on November 22nd, 1913 and continues its mission today, by providing good deeds to the people of Muskingum County. Every year the Grange hosts special fundraising dinners, service projects and even an ice cream social in order to improve the area. Weiser says he has high hopes for the organization in the future.

"I hope that we can continue to be a piller in the community, as Mr. Kasich said, and also to grow our membership and be able to spread out the good amongst the community, " said Weiser.

For more information about membership and the Timber Run Grange you can visit its newly created website at www.timberrungrange.org . Weiser says that there is always an open invitation to all of the events including a roast pork dinner scheduled at their hall on West Pike on Sunday, October 13th.
