The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office says it had to deal with an exotic animal release problem this past weekend. Unlike the case here in Muskingum County two years ago when over 50 creatures were released, only one lion was roaming around early Sunday morning near Buckeye Lake. Investigators say someone cut the chains and lock of a cage that housed a 400 pound lion owned by John Moore. She was found a short time later on a neighbor’s lawn and returned to her cage. Moore is familiar with exotic animals since he used to care for Terry Thompson’s animals on his Kopchak Road farm before they were set loose in October of 2011.
