Are you looking for a way to jump start your business?
The Muskingum County Business Incubator is having their 8th annual Business Plan Competition and the deadline is quickly approaching. The competition is an opportunity for local entrepreneurs looking to start their own business, or for businesses two-years and younger. All you have to do is come up with an original idea or business plan for your company and present your idea in front of six judges.
"1st place is $5,000 in cash, $5,000 in business services, second place is $1,000 in cash and $1,000 in business services so this is real money that can help a new business get started," said Executive In Residence Sherry Stewart.
The entry form and a three page overview of your idea needs to be submitted or postmarked to the MCBI by Monday, September 9. After that, there will be two sessions for you to brain storm and get advice to perfect your idea from the MCBI staff.
"September 11th and 18th, we have instruction and assistance meetings from 5:30-7:00 p.m. If they can’t make those times, then we’ll work with them one-on-one. However much they need, as much time as they need, anytime throughout the day or evening, as long as they make appointments for those times, we’ll give them assistance in any area that they need assistance within."
Contestants will give a 10-15 minute presentation on Wednesday, October 2, followed by a Q & A session from the judges. The competition is sponsored by TechGROWTH Ohio, WesBanco and Matesich Distributing Company. The MCBI is located at 2725 Pinkerton Rd. in Zanesville.
