Work is set to begin this Sunday, September 15th on the rehabilitation of an eastbound Interstate 70 bridge located just east of downtown Zanesville between the 7th St. and State Route 93 exits. This project will require two separate lane closures, the first beginning this weekend.
The contractor will be closing the I-70 eastbound driving lane for the removal and replacement of the existing concrete bridge deck. This closure will begin Sunday at 7 p.m. and expected to be in place until next Thursday, September 19 at 4 p.m., weather permitting.
The same work will be performed on the passing lane portion of the bridge which will require a lane closure as well. This work is expected to take place in the coming weeks. A set date will be released when it is determined.
Traffic will be maintained in one, 14-foot lane during each closure.
This construction is part of the rehabilitation project of two I-70 bridges located in Zanesville which includes the I-70 westbound exit ramp bridge for State Route 60 which began this summer and required a 60 day closure. ODOT’s contractor for this project, Complete General Construction Company, re-opened the bridge 16 days ahead of schedule. The completion date for this $734,054.48 project is October 30th, 2013.
