The 161st Morgan County Fair

Another area fair is gearing up and preparing for fun, food, games and entertainment!

The 161st Morgan County Fair, in McConnelsville, starts Tuesday and continues through Saturday. On Monday, fair board members, traveling fair personnel and other involved fair community members where setting up the fairgrounds for a week of activities.

"We start around 10 o clock, the first program we have is a tribute to the veterans, then a karaoke contest after that,” said Fair Board Director, Nanclyn Thomas. “And then on Wednesday, we have senior citizens come, they are going to have an eye spy game that you go around to each building."

More highlights for the rest of the fair include, a tractor pull Wednesday night, Thursday is kids day with motocross in the evening. For Friday there will be a rough truck and by Saturday, there is a livestock sale with monster trucks that evening.

"Oh this year we have a lot of changes, we have a lot of sponsors going on this year, bigger programs, bigger shows, and it’s just going to be exciting all over."

General admission is 8 dollars, which includes the rides. You can also purchase a season pass which is 22 dollars and grants admission to the fair every day.
