A spooky comedy has made its way to the stage at the Zanesville Community Theatre.

The play house is currently running the production "Young Frankenstein”. The director chose this play because he says it’s the perfect time of year.

"We always like plays like this around the Halloween time. I like to do and direct shows with a Halloween theme so a couple of years ago we did Little Shop of Horrors, we like to keep in that genre, " said Director, Jan Smith.

The play is based on the original 1930’s Frankenstein movie, which was later rewritten in the 70’s by famous Screenwriter and Director, Mel Brooks. Smith says that his cast really embraced Brooks iconic sense of humor.

"Our five or six principal characters have an incredible sense of comedic timing and delivery, and it’s so important. You can’t teach that you either have it or you don’t," said Smith.

If you would like to see this play, tickets are $15 per person. For more information on show times or to book a seat, visit the Zanesville Community Theatre’s website.
