For the past 17 years local bikers have ridden together to provide Christmas toys for area children.

In partnership with the Salvation Army, Rushing Wind Biker Church is hosting its annual Motorcyclists for Kids Toy Ride next month. The event will feature contests, live auctions and even a couple of special holiday characters for the children.

"We are going to having Santa Claus there, Misses Claus will be there at the Colony Square Mall where the event takes place," said Pastor, Michael McGuire. We will have a lot of the children coming in looking at our motorcycles and of course Santa will be there passing out candy. "

To register for the toy ride, bikers can pay $10 or bring in a toy to give away . In past years, the fundraiser has produced large amounts of money for underprivileged children living in Muskingum County.

"The amount of money that sometimes comes in through this event is well over $ 5,000 so we’re very privileged to help bringing in some funds along with the toys that come in above and beyond that. "

Registration will start promptly at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 2nd at the Colony Square Mall. Around 3 p.m. more than 300 bikers are expected to ride from the mall in a parade to the Salvation Army where they will be served lunch.
