Organizers are gearing up for this Sunday’s 17th Annual Souper Bowl Benefit and invites the community to join them for a warm meal .

More than 40 area sponsors and local churches are joining together to make this year’s fundraiser a success. There will be musical entertainment, and a variety of food options for guests to purchase for $5.

"We have four different kinds of soup," said Co-Organizer, Keely Warden. We have vegetarian vegetable, we have bean soup, a really cool chili and we also have cheesy potato soup and you also get a sandwich sloppy Joe, hot dog or a coney. "

All the money raised at the luncheon will go directly back into the local community by providing food to the hungry through local organizations.

"It supports five local agencies," said Warden. Which would be Christ’s Table, East Side Community Ministries, Salvation Army, Fellowship for Christ and the senior center, and all the proceeds from the day will go to those benefiting agencies."

To purchase tickets they are available at all of the benefiting agencies, you can also call Christ’s Table at 740-452-9766 for more information. Tickets can be purchased at the door for an additional dollar. The Souper Bowl will be held Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at the Muskingum County Center for Seniors.
