Brown Makes Impact on Electrics

The Philo boys soccer team has battled adversity before, on and off the field, but head coach Matt Brown has helped them form a different perspective. Brown has overcome cancer twice, but recently learned the disease returned. He will begin a 6 week radiation treatment plan next week in Bloomington, Indiana, which will cut his season short. While he won’t be there physically, his spirit and attitude is reflected through his team.

It doesn’t take long to realize the impact that Brown has on his players and the community around him. This Saturday, the people of Duncan Falls are giving back, by hosting a Kickin’ for Coach fundraiser at the Philo-Zanesville girls and boys soccer games.

It will be the last game that Matt will be on the sideline this season, but if the Electrics make it far in the tournament, you better bet that he will be there cheering on his team if he can. For now, he is staying positive, and so is his team.
