If you missed your chance to get a bowl of chili on Friday, the Nelson T. Gant Foundation’s Chili Fest will continue on Saturday.

Chili meals will be served at the Gant House located at 1845 West Main Street from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon . Each meal costs $6 and can be picked up, delivered or guests can dine in. All the proceeds from the meal will go towards improving services at the foundation.

"The money that we raise for the Chili Fest goes to the Nelson .T Gant Foundation, and what we are trying to do this year, is implement some educational programs as part of our overall programming," said Education Chair, Anita Jackson.

Organizers say that the Chili Fest is a fun way to interact with old friends and family and reminds them of their namesake.

"This is sort of in tradition of what Nelson T. Gant would do. He often provided food for travelers that were traveling on National Road 40, so this would be a practice he did," said Jackson.

People also have the chance to enter their names in a $50 drawing that will be announced at the end of the fest. For ticket information people can call the Foundation’s President, Connie Norman at 614-946-4052.
