Fire erupted in a two story farmhouse early Monday morning in Glenford Township, destroying the structure.

Glenford Fire Department Chief Ricky Wright said just after midnight crews responded to a vacant house on Mound Builders Road, near the Licking and Perry county line. Wright said the structure was fully involved with flames, showing from the roof, windows and doors. The home had been vacant for 2 to 3 months and there were no injuries. Wright said the cause of the fire is undetermined and is under investigation with the Licking County Investigation Team.

Wright would not comment if the fire was the work of an arsonist, but did say there were no utilities hooked to the house. Glenford, National Trails, and Licking Township Departments battled the flames and had it under control by 1 a.m.
