The Ohio University Zanesville Campus Public Safety Department invites the community to its first ever Stranger Danger and Halloween Safety Presentation.
The fun filled night will take place at the OUZ Campus Center on October 24th. The event prepares children and parents for Halloween safety with live demos and advice.
"So we’ll go over basic tips, make sure you trick or treat with your parents or trustworthy friends or family members, make sure you don’t take homemade goods or candy from anybody that you don’t know. Trick or Treat in areas that you are familiar with, " said Director of Public Safety, Bethany Hayes.
Local organizations all came together to provide treats and prizes for children that attend. The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office will also be there passing out identification badges for children and parents.
"It has height ,weight, their hair color, their eye color, date of birth, the date that the card was issued, it has a finger print, then on the back it has the steps you take if you think your child is missing, " said Hayes.
The presentation will start at 6:30 p.m. in the the conference rooms of the Campus Center. People can expect plenty of Halloween inspired games and activities that build confidence,safety skills and awareness in visitors.
