The Muskingum County Music Hall of Fame Day is more than just a chance to induct new members.
The day has become a way to celebrate the best of Muskingum County’s country music, the musicians who play and to memorialize those no longer here. One of the best parts of the event for President Rodney Brown and Vice President Ed Roby is the friendships.
"Just enjoy the day and see who all the musicians are that are coming in and listen to some good music," said Brown.
This Sunday marks the 28th Annual Hall of Fame Day. Four bands are scheduled to play featuring a variety of instruments like violins, various guitars, harmonicas and drums. Eight new members will be inducted. Though the inductees are different every year, some things remain the same.
"It’s pretty much a staple. We just induct new members. We would like to get some young people in there because it’s an aging process, but it does keep you young at heart," said Roby.
If you would like to attend the Hall of Fame Day it takes place at Roger’s Auction Barn in Adamsville. Lunch is available starting at 11 with music beginning at noon. Organizers said they are asking for a donation and they’ll be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
It’s also suggested to bring along a chair.
