Lunch Boxes for Breast Cancer

Purchasing a hand made boxed lunch from Riesbeck’s can benefit breast cancer awareness and research.

Four years ago, Riesbeck’s employees brainstormed a new way to support the fight for breast cancer and came up with breast cancer awareness lunch boxes.

"There’s delicious lunch meats in there," said Riesbeck’s Events and Marketing Coordinator, Jane Dombrowski. You get a little bit of a salad, you get some dinner rolls, you get some pink iced cookies and it’s a great meal."

The meals cost $4.99 and can be purchased every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at any Riesbeck’s location up until November 1st. A portion of the proceeds will go to breast cancer research. while the rest will go back into the local community. Dombroski says that the lunch boxes are popular for two reasons.

The iced cookies seem to be a pretty popular favorite, but again you know because it is for a great cause, that’s why the customers are coming in," said Dombroski.

More than 200 boxes have already been purchased for this year’s fundraiser. New buyers can call the deli in advance for their order or purchase them as walk ins. Each box can be customized to your liking.
