Pastor of New Covenant Church, Candy Gibson, is inviting the community to the church’s community festival this Saturday, Oct. 26.
"It’s free. We’ll have food in the morning 11-4 p.m. and then at 4 p.m., we’ll switch and tear down the tables and have Christian rap and a dance and then a mime skit and then we’ll switch over to Christian games and then we’ll do an outdoor theater and then a wiener roast," said Gibson.
Gibson said October is a spiritual month to celebrate the Feast of the Tabernacle and that the purpose of the festival is to be spiritually and physically aware of our surroundings. Not only is Gibson inviting the community but she said representatives from the Red Cross, the Fieldhouse, the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and Movement on Main Dance Studio will also be attending.
"The Red Cross is gonna do disaster awareness, the Fieldhouse is gonna introduce what they have available for the winter; winter sports for the kids and health for us. And Movement on Main is gonna be here to introduce what they have in dance."
There will be games and activities for both kids and adults. The festival will be at 36 S. Shawnee Ave. and will go on rain or shine, but Gibson said she’s praying for good weather.
