Opportunity to Learn About the Local Economy

The Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its annual Economic Outlook Event.

This year, chamber members will focus on three main topics including , logistics and distribution , oil and gas production and economic development in our area . The Human Resource Director for Fanatics Incorporated, Kyle Killian will discuss the benefits of their new local facility .

"Fanatics just put a very large fulfillment distribution center for their sports wear company up near Frazeysburg in one of the former Longaberger buildings," said Chamber President, Tom Poorman. He’s going to talk about all the hiring fanatics is doing, they are hiring over 1,000 seasonal employees right now. "

The former State Geologist for Ohio, Larry Wickstrom will explain current changes in oil and gas production in Utica Shale. The Muskingum County Port Authority in joint efforts with the Muskingum County Growth Partnership will give an informative presentation.

"They are going to update us on some economic development marketing activities that we are pursuing jointly with the port authority, we have a new video that we are going to show so there’s a lot going on that morning. " said Poorman.

The event will take place on Friday, October 25th from 7:30 to 9-30 a.m. at the Muskingum County Welcome Center. The cost to attend is $20 per person and it includes breakfast. To reserve a spot people can contact the chamber of commerce by phone 740-452-8282 or online.
