A local mother decided to speak out against bullying and she wants the community to join her.
Erin Rock, created the Run, Walk and Roll Against Bullying to spread awareness about the issue and put a stop to bullying.
"I have four kids," said Rock. My kids range from the ages 8 to 13, and I’ve seen the bullying at school, different organizations as has everyone. I really think with the age differences in my kids I see it getting progressively worse "
The money raised will go towards "Think Before You Speak" and "Pacers," Two organizations that focus on bullying prevention. Visitors can expect prizes, raffles, drawings, t-shirts and educational information that pertains to bullying.
" We are going to have signs along they way that were made by one of my daughters teams at school," said Rock. They’ll be anti-bullying slogans, so at the end to sign up for the drawings they are going to put what they think the solution is to the problem for them."
The 5K walk will take place at 12 p.m. on Sunday, October 20th, at Riverside Park in Zanesville. The entry fee is free for children under six, $10 for children ages 7 to 16 , and for all others registration is $20. For more information check out the Run Walk Roll Against Bullying Facebook Page.
