There’s frustration for Maysville School District officials as another bomb threat takes students out of class.

Superintendent Monte Bainter said that around 8:15 a.m. Thursday morning was found written on the second floor bathroom wall of the middle school. Sheriff’s deputies swept the building. Both the high school students and middle school were evacuated.

"We went into a soft lock down and got the kids contained to their classrooms," said Maysville Superintendent Monte Bainter. "From there we did an orderly evacuation."

This marks the third bomb threat for the school this month. Bainter said these threats are disruptive to the school schedule and the learning process. He said classes have to be shortened for the rest of the day following a threat and the kids are out of classes for an extended period of time.

"I will tell you this, we’re looking into the fullest extent that we can do and I’m not ruling out starting to make up time that we’re missing," said Bainter.

Bainter said he’s unsure at this time how they’ll make up the missed hours, but it will be discussed. He added that the school will deal with the person or persons responsible to the fullest extent and that the sheriff’s office will prosecute to their fullest extent as well.
