Trick or Treating at Colony Square Mall

In attempts to dodge the rain, trick or treaters gathered at the Colony Square Mall for their annual trick or treat night.

For the past three decades the mall has provided an alternative Halloween option for families. Retailers provided candy for trick or treaters while they went from store to store collecting goodies in their best Halloween attire.

"I’ve seen a lot of great costumes," said Marketing Coordinator at Colony Square Mall, Kevin Pinson. I really like when the whole family gets involved, I saw a mom, dad and kid dressed up as Ninja Turtles. I’ve seen the Avengers, it’s pretty neat to see what some of the families can come up with. "

Along with trick or treating, the event also serves as a fundraiser for the local chapter of a national organization.

"About three years ago, we teamed up with the United Way and we asked our trick or treaters to bring out a non perishable food item to donate to local food pantries," said Pinson.

The fundraiser is a part of the United Way’s Say Boo to Hunger Campaign and donations will go towards "Operation Feed." Pinson says he would like to thank everyone for coming out this year and especially those who made a donation.
