As of Tuesday, Ohio voters can begin casting absentee ballots for the November 5th general election.

The election is a little more than a month away and if you would like to vote before the day of the election, it is an easy process of just filling out an application.

"You may come to our office between the hours of eight and four, Monday through Friday,” said Director of Board of Elections, Chris Hamill. “Or you can call our office and request an application form to be mailed to you or you can go to our website and print an application."

For this election, there will be candidates running for city and county positions, as well as tax levies and a liquor option.

"In this city we do have your council at large, your president of council and there are the wards that have all of the candidates up. The township we do have your trustees and school board members."

The last day to vote absentee at the Muskingum County Board of Elections office is November 1st and the deadline to register to vote is Monday, October 7.
