The Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project has chosen a featured artist for the month of October.
Cathy white is a member of ZAAP and has lived in Zanesville for the past seven years. She says that the constantly growing art community is what keeps her in town . White creates various types of artwork, but focused on photography for her current display.
"A lot of them are emotional photographs," said White. Leaves, snow, antiques and things, and I think we need to keep in touch with what makes us feel so good about our lives. "
White’s artwork will be sold at this Friday’s Art Walk, but many of her original pieces will also be given away at a silent auction.
"75 pieces will be going to three different charities in the area, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Muskingum Animal Shelter and ZAAP Gallery to raise funds."
For more information about the charities or the artist you can visit the ZAAP Art Gallery from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday evening or during the day on Saturday. White encourages everyone to come out to view her creations and grab a bite to eat.
