It’s a chance for businesses in Muskingum County to show off their creative side.
The annual Festival of Trees Auction is looking for more entries for this year’s event. The Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce said they’ve already received a lot of interest, some from businesses that haven’t participated before, but they’re looking for more.
"It’s a great holiday event for the community," said Chamber President Tom Poorman. "To the chamber it’s an essential fundraiser. We use the proceeds from the auction to help us operate throughout the year. This is what we put back into the community for business development, helping small businesses and services to area companies. These dollars help with that."
The Chamber is accepting entries until the end of the week, but will take some after that date. The auction is a mixture of both Christmas decor and incentives that go along with some of the entries.
"There’s no cost to participate. All they have to do is provide entries, so there’s a cost in that I guess. It’s a great way to promote your business. It’s a great way to get your name out there. A little bit of expenditure on that front does us both a lot of good," said Poorman.
The Festival of Trees takes place on Friday December 6 and can be heard on WHIZ AM-1240. To find out more about the Festival of Trees visit the Chamber of Commerce website.
