Muskingum University in New Concord is closed after a bomb threat on Thursday. WHIZ News was able to reach a student John Clevenger who confirmed that a campus wide text alert system told everyone on campus to leave until sometime on Friday. The exact nature of the bomb threat has not been revealed. WHIZ News called Muskingum University Campus Police and a person who answered the phone would only say “I can’t talk to you now” and then hung up the phone. The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency is also on campus investigating the threat. Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says he sent deputies to the College to assist with the investigation.
The Muskingum Valley Red Cross is also on the scene of the bomb threat provding snacks and water to those evacuated.
