The November general election is over but there’s still work to be done.
Muskingum County Board of Elections employees are busy preparing for the official count of election results. Director Chris Hamill says the count will happen on Nov. 19.
"In the official count, any provisional ballots that are validated by the board will be counted in that total," explained Hamill. "As of right now, we have 99 that we are researching."
That means all voters who have recently moved, will have their ballot counted on Nov.19. Hamill said once the official count is complete, then they move on to the possibility of recounting close election results.
"As of right now we do have two that could possibly be recounted. But we won’t know forsure until we have our official count and to see if any of those votes reflect a difference in the totals."
