It was lights, camera, action for a few area pets on Saturday that had a chance to take holiday photos with Santa.
For the 11th year, the Angels Paws organization hosted their annual Santa Paws event at the Wilson’s Garden Center. Angel Paws is a non profit that provides assistance and therapy animals to healthcare facilities and children. Proceeds from the photo shoot will aid those programs.
"Most of it will go towards volunteer development," said Founder, Patti Shanaberg. "We are always on the lookout for more qualified teams and also promotion for printing cost, we also purchase books as rewards for the kids that read to our animals. "
The fundraiser allowed pet parents to pick out a handmade frame and take home customized digital prints of their beloved animals. Shanaberg says it’s an amazing experience and she enjoys watching the animals every year.
" We just love seeing all of the dogs come out, we have cats and guinea pigs sometimes too and it’s a lot of fun. They don’t always have to be really well behaved, we get a lot of crazy ones and we work with the animals,"said Shanaberg.
If you missed your opportunity to get your pets pictures taken you can visit Wilson’s on December 7th and 8th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to attend Santa Paws. There is also a donation tree at the front of the store if you would like to help out that way. For more information you can call 740-364-0824.
