A drive by took place on Leonard Avenue in Zanesville on Saturday.

The firemen at the Zanesville Fire Department held their first annual Toys for Tots Drive By event from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Locals were able to drive through the station and drop off new unwrapped toys in designated bins. Visitors also received a few special treats for their generosity.

"We’ve got some candy canes and pins and just badges and neat things to hand out to the kids and if they would like to see the fire station they can see the fire trucks and the station and all that, " said Local 88 President, Trent Abrams.

Abrams says that although the event was successful, there are still children in Muskingum County without toys. If you were not able to make it out on Saturday there are ways you can still get involved.

" You can also come to any of the fire stations and drop off toys at anytime now through Christmas and there will be boxes available you can drop those off at any of the the three fire stations in the city, " said Abrams.
