A Smile Never Forgotten

The community rallied together to support the family of a local man who passed away unexpectedly this past summer.

Family and friends of Scott Jeffrey Norris met at the Fieldhouse’s indoor track to run two miles in his honor. His sister, Jennifer Hooper says that the support has been overwhelming and her brother’s memory will live on forever.

"He was very pleasant, he always had a smile on his face and he never ever had an enemy, just beloved by everyone. He had the voice of an angel and not many people knew that he just sang so beautifully and I wish more people had knew that," said Hooper.

All the proceeds raised at the Smile Miles Walk and Run will go towards the American Heart Association for research. The family says that he was unaware of any heart problems at the time of his death. He was only 35 years old.

"He was working out at the Fieldhouse and he had a massive heart attack and he didn’t  know he had heart problems at all, and it was quite the shock," said Hooper.

If you could not make it to the moving event on Saturday, you can visit the Fieldhouse and leave donations that will go towards heart research.
