Christmas at Christ’s Table

If you need a place to go for Christmas for a delicious meal, we have the place for you.

You can find a warm meal every day of the year at Christ’s Table but on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, the food pantry offers something a little special.

"We try to have traditional treats for all of our guests, that we can walk around with and share lots and lots of sweets on Christmas because that’s what Christmas is all about,” explained Executive Director, Keely Warden. “Every once in a while, we will have a random caroler walk in and sing some carols and last year we had a gentleman come in with a saxophone and play Christmas carols, so you never know on Christmas day what is going to happen at Christ’s table and that’s just the special spirit of Christmas-never knowing.”

Christmas day lunch will be served from 10:30 to 12:30 and even though the holiday is still two days away, Warden says the Christmas spirit was already alive Monday at Christ’s Table.

"We have a church that comes in from Marysville Ohio, that came in to do a little Christmas giveaway, so we were extremely busy today and of course with the kids being out of school, that always makes our numbers go up. So a big thank you to everybody who helped us make that happen today, with all the volunteers we had, we couldn’t have done it with out them."

Warden said kids are given a special gift from Santa. Warden also said there are plenty of volunteers for Christmas Eve and Christmas but encourages people to volunteer other times throughout the year and keep the season of giving alive all year long.
