A local service organization is open to the public on New Year’ s Day.
Kitchen Manager at Christ’s Table, Tim Collins says that they are open on any holiday if it falls during the week. He says that he expects the number of visitors to be around the same as last week for Christmas. Many guests will be dining in and even more will have their food delivered to them by volunteers.
"If it’s anything like Christmas it will be somewhere around 160 people in house and 220 outside to help out with deliveries that are delivered by a group of wonderful volunteer drivers that asks for nothing. They don’t ask for money or anything they just volunteer their time and their vehicles everyday five days a week," said Collins.
Collins says for his new year’s resolution he wants to continue to provide service to people in need in our county and become an even better person. He says he is excited to share a special holiday meal with his newly acquired Christ’s Table family.
"We are having a traditional New Year’s Day at least in my family traditional meal with pork, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and we will have tossed salad and sweet rolls and doughnuts that and a pie, " said Collins.
The kitchen will open around 10:30 a.m. and close just after noon.
