Coshocton Woman Sentenced in Healthcare Fraud Scheme

by Carolyn Fleegle on December 5, 2013

A Coshocton woman has been sentenced in connection with a multi-million dollar health care fraud scheme.

Barbara Elise Miller, the former owner of Three Rivers Infusion and Pharmacy Specialists in Coshocton, was sentenced Thursday  to 54 months in prison and 3 years of probation for multiple health care fraud charges.

Ohio Lt.  Governor Mary Taylor says the charges stem from a $2.1 million scheme where she fraudulently billed private insurance companies and Medicaid.

In July, Miller was sentenced to serve 27 months for obstructing the federal health care fraud investigation.

The original charges against Miller were filed in early 2010 as the result of a joint investigation involving several agencies including the Ohio Department of Insurance, Ohio Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
