The 23rd Festival of Trees has come to an end.

The annual Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Fundraiser was held at the Muskingum County Welcome Center and wrapped up Friday night. The money raised will support small business development in our area. Long time auctioneer at the event, Ron Bucci says that the fundraiser highlights the giving nature of the community.

"This community cares about business, its citizens, the less fortunate it continues to give and that’s why I love living in Zanesville and I think many other people do too.

Bucci says that phones were ringing off the hook this year and people kept on bidding higher and higher for the beautiful arrangement of trees and wreaths. He says he even ended up taking home a few items himself.

"Yea I did buy, I bought several of them my wife and I bought a couple, my grandchildren bought one and we always do. My wife had an entry in there too.. you really like to give back because you can’t help to help yourself when you help someone else.

This year the Festival of Trees brought in $25 more than last year totaling at $43,885 for 2013, and it also received a generous gift of $5,000 from the Graham family.
