A hunter was fatally shot on opening day of gun season.
According to Coshocton County Sheriff Tim Rogers, at around 10:30 Monday morning, Sheriff Deputies along with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources responded to the 28000 block of Twp. Rd. 341 in reference to a deceased hunter.
Upon arrival a 63-year-old male hunter was found in his tree stand and was pronounced dead at the scene from a single gun shot wound.
The incident remains under investigation at this time. A joint investigation is being conducted by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office and ODNR.
Walhonding Fire Department and Coshocton County EMS also assisted at the scene.
