Mark your calendars for December 14th! It will be your chance to see the holiday variety show, Once Upon a Christmas.
The night begins with musician Leonard Thomas who will play for a pre-show. Then at 8 p.m. the main event will feature more than 50 area performers to tell the love story of Joe and Mary.
"Throughout the show, we start in the present day and then we go back to the fifties, and I’m pretty excited about that -love the fifties,” said Producer and Director of Once Upon a Christmas, Shelly Burley. “It will take us through their relationship, how they courted, all the way through their relationship two-some, very interesting times in their life. But they will have to come to the show to see what I am talking about there."
Beyond the intriguing story line, there is also something quite different about this show. All of the proceeds from the performance will be donated to Christ’s Table.
"These are wonderful performers, they are doing a wonderful job,” said Executive Director of Christ’s Table, Keely Warden. “But what it just keeps coming back to, it’s not about the performing, it’s about doing something for Christ’s Table, their hearts are so warm and so full of love for our mission, it’s just really made a difference with us."
The generosity was extended further, to invite those who are served at Christ’s Table on that Friday to see the dress rehearsal, free of charge. All of the costs of the show have been provided by sponsorships from local businesses. Tickets are 15 dollars and can be purchased at Secrest, ticket crush and www.etix.com.
