On Wednesday, 60 lucky elementary students got the chance to meet Santa, Rudolph and Frosty the Snowman.

Every year, the Zanesville Kiwanis Club holds a Christmas party for area students who need a little extra holiday cheer. Bridget Tetack, co-chair for the club’s Youth Services Committee, says the reaction the students had while meeting Santa was priceless.

"It’s a lot of fun, we shop for about 60 kids so the Kiwanians themselves have a great time going out and buying all of those gifts for the kids and then they come in and we have a pizza party and they get to see Santa Claus and Rudolph and Frosty and Mick Amicone comes and sings and just a festive event," said Tetack.

The students are from the Zanesville, Maysville and West Muskingum school districts and are selected by teachers and guidance counselors.Teteck says the Kiwanians are able to put the Christmas party on every year thanks to community’s support.

"We do support this event through things like our peanut sale and some other things that we do in the community so thank you so much for your contributions to everyone in the community who makes those events successful so that we can make things like this happen."

The Christmas party was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in the Sunrise Center.
